• The RDA is committed to developing rural communities, increasing the well-being of farmers and ensuring the efficient use of rural resources. The agency is responsible for R&D and dissemination of technologies related to agriculture, farmers and rural communities, as well as rural extension services, training and international cooperation.

• The KFS is mandated to oversee and coordinate forest policies and formulate a master plan and a national plan on forests. It ensures the abundance of forest resources, protection of forests, use and development of forest products, conservation of mountainous areas, and research and improvement of forest management.

• NAS is responsible for maintaining the Korea Insect Resources Information System (INREKO), a database that allows users to search for information on insect resources.

• NIFoS maintains data on national forest ecosystems, including classification and distribution of forest ecosystems by type and distribution maps of naturalized plants. It also ensures the conservation and management of forest resources in forest conservation zones.

• NICS conducts research on crop breeding and genetics, crop physiology and ecology and the conservation and improvement of crop production environments. It also develops technologies to enhance crop breeding, add values and improve cultivation techniques.

• NIAS is responsible for making information available on livestock farming and ensuring the development, extension and dissemination of relevant technologies. The institute conducts research on breeding and genetics and reproductive and nutritional physiology of livestock and poultry, livestock facilities, manure recycling, conservation of genetic resources, and livestock disease control and hygiene.

• The KNA maintains the Korea Biodiversity Information System (Nature) and an information portal on a wide range of plant and insect resources, including the Korean Plant Names Index, rare plants, naturalized plants and cultivated plants.

• The NIHHS focuses on technology development and support related to horticultural and special purpose crops, such as fruits and vegetables, flowering plants, ginseng, medicinal plants and mushrooms. It is responsible for improving the quality of horticultural and special purpose crops and developing technology that adds value.

• The KSVS is an agency specializing in seed and seedling management and quality policy service delivery. It also aims to strengthen the variety protection system with improved variety testing.

• The APQA conducts livestock inspection and research to ensure national food safety. Additionally, it oversees livestock hygiene and safety inspection, verification and quality control of veterinary medicine, and development and dissemination of animal disease prevention technology.
