Article 2, Paragraph 3 of the Wildlife Protection And Management Act

Definition

The term "globally endangered species" means any of the following animals and plants, the international transaction of which is regulated by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (hereinafter referred to as the "Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species"), which are publicly notified by the Minister of Environment:

  • Among endangered species, those affected or may be affected by international transactions, which are included in Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species;
  • Species not endangered at present but may be endangered, if the international transaction thereof is not strictly regulated, and other species that must be regulated to effectively control the transaction of the endangered species, which are included in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species;
  • Species that are verified to be regulated in the jurisdiction of a party to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species with a purpose of restricting the use thereof by the party and are deemed in need of cooperation of other parties to regulate international transactions, which are included in Appendix III of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species;
